  1. OK, boot the Ubuntu Live CD. Click Applications-System Tools- Gnome Partition Editor. Then click on your Mac partition and click unmount, then resize it to what size you want, this will probably take some time. Exit GParted. Click Install. There will be an option saying “use the largest continious free space”, click that. It will probably take you to your blank partition. Follow all the steps and voila! Your Ubuntu is ready

    just put the ubuntu live cd in your drive, boot up, click on the install icon and follow the prompts. Make sure you don’t tell it to let ubuntu use the whole disk. there will be a slider where you can adjust how much space you want to give it. It’s a pretty easy and straight forward process.
    Always be sure to back up your important data beforehand, just in case.
