I have the last version of the iBook before they stopped making them, a 14″. How does Leopard run on it?

I may be buying a macbook on eBay. Currently the HDD that is in the MacBook has Leopard on it. Only problem is, the HDD has 80GB.

How do I get the Leopard OSD onto a blank HDD that I will install into the Mac?

I just got a new Macbook Pro like 2 months ago. I was wondering how the upgrade works. Am I going to have to reinstall all of my previously installed programs like Microsoft Office, iLife ‘08, Aperature, or iWorks ‘08 (it’s not a problem it’d just be a hassle)? Or is it just going to update the OS and leave everything as is? Am I going to have to back everything up (even though I’ll probably do it anyways to be on the same side?
