If you mean a G3 macintosh, then it depends what kind it is. Certain G3s, like the Powerbook “Kanga”, will not run OS X at all. The beige G3s will run OS X up to version 10.2, but none after that will work. Any other G3s can run OS X up to version 10.4, though speed may suffer as a result.
